My Spirits with Dept of IR&PM: Satybrata Patro

To mark my foot prints in the PG Department of IR&PM in the year 1984 as student when the Dept was named as IR& LW. 


It was in transition and renamed as IR&PM.


i have served the dept as FWI giving up my Career as leading advocate in the the City for my passion towards teaching and the Alma-mater.


I cherish every moment till today as it became part and parcel of life.. and still have the same zest and zeal to continue till the last breath..

The Department has an association of its alumni. Every alternate year the Department in collaboration with its alumni organizes a National level Conference on a contemporary topic and provides an opportunity to the alumni, academicians and professionals for an interaction. The Department has also started a practice of felicitating alumni for their success and achievements in their respective fields. The Department has established a merit award in the name of Prof. Gopal Chandra Rath in favour of the student who secures First Class First position in the final examination. The fund in this regard has been contributed by the alumni. Some of the alumni have also provided corpus funds for creation of memorial awards for students securing First Class First and Second positions in their final examinations. Apart form the biannual interaction there is continuous interaction with the alumni. The alumni by occupying different professional positions in various areas have brought laurels to the Department.

Prof.Subhas Parida

I started my life as student of IR&Pm in 1975-77. Soon after my M.Phil in 1987  and Ph.D in 1992  i have joined as faculty in IR&Pm dept in 1988. 


Now continuing as Professor .As head of the Department in my tenure i have organised the first ever National Conference and Alumni Meeting in December 2003.


It was a grand success and received applauds  from all sections of the Society. 
the Dept has launched a Web site for IR&PM dept for the first time which was marked by he then VC. Prof.SN Behara and CMD of NALCo and CMD of RINL Visakhapatnam. 


The Dept felicitated our alumni members who have reached the heights of the profession in different sectors

WELCOME TO PRIDE  - ALUMNI  IR&PM

PG Dept.of IR&PM, Berhampur University  is a premier Department  in the country was founded in 1967  in  south ODISHA in the  city of Berhampur, ODISHA. Over the last few decades PGDIRPM  has contributed its best to the HR professionals growth and management of innumerable institutions that serve the public, especially organized industry, Labour, service agencies engaged in rural development, education, health and other public systems.

The department offers two year full time MA in IR&PM course at the Post graduate level is one of the oldest department in HRM with HR speiliastion. The Programme aims to equip the students with knowledge and hone skills required for management of Human resources. the major thrust areas are Industrial relations, organizational behavior, Change management Human resource management, human resource Development, labour law ,International HRM and labor economics.
